Ihsan Perdana appointed as CSR partner because of ‘top man Najib’
KUALA LUMPUR: Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd was appointed as SRC International’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) partner without a resolution from SRC board of directors, revealed SRC’s former director, Suboh Md Yasin.
Suboh told the court that the then chief executive officer (CEO) Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil convinced him to sign a letter dated Sep 3, 2014 which effectively made Ihsan Perdana the CSR partner.
He claimed that Nik Faisal told him that SRC wanted to conduct CSR and it was agreed upon by an “orang atas” whom he believes is none other than Najib himself.
“I have no doubt in my mind that when he referred to ‘orang atas‘, he referred to Najib (Abdul Razak),” Suboh said.
A director’s resolution to ratify the appointment of Ihsan Perdana was signed in 2015.
Meanwhile when questioned by deputy public prosecutor Ishak Mohd Suboh, he also revealed that he signed a transfer instruction to Ambank that transferred RM5 million from SRC to Gandingan Mentari eventhough he did not know the reason for doing so.
He explained that he was merely following the instruction of Nik Faisal.
Ishak:Looking at this, you were the director for both SRC International and Gandingan Mentari. Can you explain why you signed the documents?
Suboh: I was told… I was asked by Nik Faisal to sign.
Ishak:So you only followed (the request from Nik Faisal)?
Suboh: (Yes) I followed.
Earlier today, Najib failed in his application to adjourn the hearing to attend Dewan Rakyat sitting.
