IGP: Finding Jho Low is tough, foreign nations not helping us much
KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said the police are frustrated in the efforts to bring back fugitive businessman Jho Low, or Low Taek Jho, after failing to get cooperation from foreign authorities.
Hamid even accused the foreign countries of not being sincere in maintaining good relationship with Malaysia.
“I haven’t lost any hope yet but I am frustrated. We are hoping for their sincerity by cooperating with us but so far, I haven’t seen it.
“And I have promised to bring him (Jho Low) back to Malaysia by end of the year,” he said at a press conference in Bukit Aman today.
Jho Low is involved the criminal proceedings of the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) embezzlement case.
However, Hamid assured the public that the police will continue to hunt for Jho Low.
“I know where he spends his fortunes and where he bought his assets in Cyprus. We have all the information.
“I also know where he has been to,” he said.
