Hishammuddin: I’m not leaving Umno, period!
PUCHONG: Umno MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein dismissed speculation that he would be leaving the nationalist party soon.
On a Twitter post, Hishammuddin urged the public not to believe the vile speculation levelled against him and reiterated him loyalty to Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN).
“I deny speculations that I will leave the party. Please don’t believe them.
“My stand has always been consistent from day one and I will repeat it again, my loyalty is undivided. I will always be with Umno and Barisan Nasional,” he said.
Last year, Hishammuddin was speculated to be plotting to leave his party after he was alleged to have led a delegation of 17 Umno MPs to meet former Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali at the latter’s residence.
The Umno disciplinary board served the former defence minister a show-cause letter for breaching party regulations but the charges were later dismissed.
