Hisham: Over 8k tabligh attendees tested, awaiting results

PUCHONG: Health Ministry today said that 8,786 participants of the tabligh gathering at Masjid Jamek, Sri Petaling held last month, had been traced and tested for COVID-19.
In a statement, its director general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 3,439 samples were taken from them as of now.
“After we confirmed 95 COVID-19 cases from this cluster, the new total cases of the coronavirus have increased to 338 cases,” he said.
He added the highest cases recorded are from Kuala Lumpur (22 cases), Kelantan (12) and Pahang (10).
Around 14,000 people had attended the religious gathering held at Sri Petaling, from Feb to March.
