PUCHONG: Health Ministry director general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah today said COVID-19 vaccine is still in the early phase of development.
Hisham said World Health Organization (WHO) is still researching a few compounds to develop the coronavirus vaccine.
“It will take at least a year to a year and a half to develop the COVID-19 vaccine and put it in the market.
“WHO has identified a few compounds and researching it.
“We hope to get the vaccine as soon as possible,” he said in a press conference at Putrajaya.
Meanwhile, Hisham said 88 of the COVID-19 patients in the country are fully cured and discharged today.
