Haziq and five others remanded
KUALA LUMPUR: The man who implicated Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali in a gay sex video clip – Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz has been remanded for six days along with five other individuals.
Federal CID director Datuk Huzir Mohamed confirmed to the media that the remand order against the six at the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate’s Court this morning.
“The six are being remanded to facilitate investigation under Section 292A of the Penal Code,” he said.
Section 292 (a) of the Penal Code criminalises the act of distributing obscene material, which is punishable with a maximum three years jail, fine or both.
Yesterday Inspector General of Police Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador revealed that clues on the mastermind and conspirators behind the sex video have been found but he stopped short of naming them outright.
He also said that the probe into the matter is taking time due to instructions from the prosecutor’s office.
Haziq was the man who admitted that he was the individual in the video and implicated Azmin.
