Hannah Yeoh: Some 6,936 benefited of Anjung Singgah since 2011
KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 (Bernama) — A total of 6,936 homeless people have registered with five Anjung Singgah (centres that provide lodging, counselling and job matching services) across the country since 2011, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.
Women, Family and Community Development Deputy Minister, Hannah Yeoh, said of the total, 5,022 people have found work while the remainder were referred to relevant agencies.
“There is an emphasis on counselling and motivation here to help the lodger deal with life’s challenges, as well as instil a positive attitude and behaviour,” she said.
