Girl found drowned after falling into a fish pond
DUNGUN: A 19-month-old girl was found drowned after falling into a fish pond in Jalan Santong, Paka yesterday afternoon.
Dungun district police chief Superintendent Baharudin Abdullah said the victim, Nur Ara Rasha Abdul Aziz, was found in the pond, about 15 metres behind her grandparents’ house.
“Prior to the incident, the victim was said to have been playing with her two cousins, aged four and two, before the family realised that she was missing. The family mounted a search for her since 3 pm.
“According to the victim’s uncle, Che Saifuddin Che Ibrahim, 33, Nur Ara Rasha was found around 5 pm and rushed to the Paka Health Clinic before being confirmed dead at 6.20 pm yesterday,” he said when contacted by Bernama here.
Baharudin said the victim’s body was taken to the Dungun Hospital forensic unit and the case was classified as a sudden death.
