Gerakan invites more people to join SPM virtual tuition classes

KUALA LUMPUR – “Not everything we need to politicize. This is a time of pandemics and most of our students including those facing big exams have to study at home.

“We are not interested in politics, for us the future of our students is much more important, especially those who will sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination,” Project Director of the SPM Tuition Virtual Success Tuition Class, Mourhrna Reddy said.

Mourhrna stressed that the program is organised to help SPM candidates face exams when the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) is implemented.

According to her, the tuition program is an initiative of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Kelab Kita Anak Malaysia (KAM) together with the Gerakan Party Education bureau which started last July.

“Currently we have around 350 students, the fact is that we are able to receive more and we have expanded to Sabah and Sarawak. We need more participation.

“This is a pandemic time, most of the time there is a school closure order following the transmission of Covid-19 which entered the third wave, of course all this will interfere with learning.

“Learning online is one of the options available, we provide this learning platform for free, the teaching staff is also experienced.

“Among the four subjects that our focus is Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics, English and Science. I really hope that opportunities like this are used instead.

“Seize this opportunity, there should be no reason for Covid-19 as the reason why we do not get good marks, many initiatives from various parties use everything wisely,” she said.

Mourhrna, who is also an entrepreneur with a legal background, said that the virtual tuition class was held every week from Friday to Sunday as well as interaction sessions with the teaching staff of the subjects.

“Immediately after registering for virtual classes, students are also given access to the Kita Anak Malaysia website and the Google Classroom platform which contains learning materials and post-virtual recording clips.

“Therefore, SPM students who are interested in participating in this tuition class can browse the website at www. kitaanakmalaysia.club for more information and registration, “she said.
