Fire and Rescue Dept issues advisory during monsoon season

PUCHONG: The Fire and Rescue Department has identified 15 hotspots where people may drown if they are not careful during the monsoon season.

The department advised the public to avoid engaging in any water activities at these locations.

The 15 hotspots are:

Rivers:

Kampung Batu Payung River, Tawau, Sabah

Sekolah Kebangsaan Cina Kampung Timah River, Sungai Tinggi, Selangor

Kampung Sabak River, Pangkalan Chepa, Kelantan

Chiling River, Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor

Gasi River, Sungai buloh, Selangor.

Beaches:

Nipah Beach, Bachok, Kelantan

Muara Tok Bali, Pasir Puteh, Kelantan

Teluk Bahang, Penang

Mining areas/Dams:

Semenyih Dam/Semenyih, Selangor

Taman Putra Perdana Dam, Puchong, Selangor

KTM Station Bridge, Sungai Buloh, Selangor

Waterfalls:

Sendat River, Ulu Yam, Selangor

Sekayu, Terengganu

Lata Berembun, Raub, Pahang

Chamang, Bentong, Pahang
