Fatherly Anwar advises Nurul while wishing to serve Dr M

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR president Anwar Ibrahim took to the Instagram to convey his advice to eldest daughter Nurul Izzah Anwar who is also Permatang Pauh MP, while acknowledging the hardship that his family members had gone through for the past two decades.

He also downplayed his daughter’s criticism of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad as her personal view.

He posted a photograph of himself kissing Nurul’s head with the following message:

“Izzah is my eldest child and as a father, her happiness and well being comes first. However, as a father I am also obligated to advise my children that they will always face challenges and disappointments in any path they chose.

“The hardships and hurt my family went through for the past twenty years have left their mark. Izzah herself was thrust into the limelight and has spent most of her adult life fighting to help reform the nation.

“@n_izzah is entitled to her personal point of view. We as a family will continue to focus on Malaysia’s future and serve together with the Tun Dr Mahathir led Pakatan Harapan.”

Nurul had come under fire for describing Dr Mahathir as a former dictator who was difficult to work with.

In response to that, Dr Mahathir said that the feelings was mutual.
