Dzulkefly: E-wallet usage at govt health facilities to reduce waiting period

KUALA LUMPUR: The introduction of e-wallet application usage (Boost) at government health clinics and hospitals will minimise patients’ registration time to less than 30 seconds.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the four health clinics include Klinik Kesihatan Cheras, Klinik Kesihatan Kuala Lumpur, Klinik Kesihatan Presint 18 Putrajaya and Klinik Kesihatan Seremban, which became the pioneer of the initiative two months ago.

“The Boost usage will make it easier and faster for patients to register at the counter. Patients can opt to use several mode of payments, using debit card, credit card or cash.

“The e-wallet usage will be implemented at all government’s health clinics and hospitals in phases within two to three years,” he said, after officiating E-Wallet (Boost) at Klinik Kesihatan Cheras here today.

Dzukefly said the initiative was organised in collaboration with Axiata Digital Ecode Sdn Bhd and RHB Islamic Bank Berhad cooperation.

“The initiative will add value and increase the clinics and hospitals services and in tandem with the government initiative to create a cashless society in Malaysia,” he said.

On another matter, Dzulkefly said government health clinics all over the country have treated around 15.58 million people until September.

“Around 20.84 millions people seek their treatment at government’s health clinics and hospitals last year and 20.85 million people the year before.

“They paid RM1 for outpatient treatment and RM5 for specialist consultation,” he said.
