Dr M leads Bersatu again…as advisor
PUCHONG: After returning as interim rime minister within a day after quitting, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is also now back with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
However, he had become the party’s advisor, instead of chairman.
“Other developments will be announced soon,” said party secretary general Datuk Marzuki Yahya.
On Monday, Mahathir resigned as prime minister and relinquished his chairmanship of Bersatu.
However, he was recalled to serve as interim prime minister by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, while the latter is attempting to resolve the political impasse triggered by Mahathir’s move.
Yesterday, Mahathir said that he was looking to form a unity government, which would be apolitical and work towards realising a national agenda.
