Don’t insult Muslim minds, Mujahid
PUCHONG: Minister in Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Islamic Affairs, Datuk Seri Mujahid Yusof Rawa was taken to task over the controversy surrounding alcohol free beer for insulting the Muslims.
“Please don’t insult the Muslims as if we’re easily confused people. Maybe those who’ve been taught, don’t use their aqal (mind) probably will get confused,” said vocal lawyer Siti Kasim on Facebook.
“So, don’t try to come out with all these rules (on) what we can or cannot drink. Clearly you are confusing others now on what is really haram and what not!
“I understand even in Mecca, since the 80s they’re selling this non-alcoholic beer. So what’s your problem eh?
“Please just stop telling us how to live, can?”
Her reaction comes in response to Mujahid who had said that alcohol free beer confused Muslims.
He urged the Muslims to keep away from the alcohol free beer, Heineken 0.0 since the distillation was the same as alcohol production.
Both Mujahid and Islamic Development Department forbid Muslims from consuming the drink.
Heineken on its part stated that their product is meant for non-Muslims above 21 and are sold at designated non-halal areas.
