Dead baby: Mum to undergo psychiatric examination
KEMAMAN: The Sessions Court today ordered a woman, who was charged with causing the death of her three-month-old baby, to undergo psychiatric examination at the Permai Hospital, Johor.
Sessions judge, Azman Mustaha made the decision on Nur Najihah Zulkiflee, 27, under Section 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code to monitor the mental health of the accused.
Nur Najihah, prior to this, pleaded not guilty to causing the death of her daughter Medina Mohd Saddly at a house in Felda Neram 2, at 11.30 am, on Sept 11.
She was charged under Section 309B of the Penal Code (Act 357) which provides a 20-year jail and fine, if guilty.
Azman fixed Nov 14 for mention of case.
The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Asyraf Minhad while the accused was not represented.
