Covid-19: Human Resources Minister under quarantine after exposure to patient
KUALA LUMPUR: Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M Saravanan (pix) is observing home quarantine after coming into contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19.
Saravanan is observing the order after he came into contact with Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) chief executive officer Datuk Shahul Hameed Dawood.
In a statement today its headquarters confirmed that the department has been closed for a week from Dec 11 after one of its employees tested positive for the virus.
The said employee is currently receiving treatment and is under close monitoring by medical personnel.
“Additionally, all HRDF employees are undergoing swab tests as part of our precautionary measures and their health conditions will continue to be monitored.
“At HRDF, the health and wellbeing of our employees and customers are our utmost priority.
“We will continue to observe stringent adherence to infection control policies and processes, and comply fully with preventive measures set by the Health Ministry,” read the statement.
HRDF, however, did not identify the employee who tested positive for Covid-19.
HRDF said those who have enquiries can contact its Customer Service Team at support@hrdf.com.my or call 1800-88-4800.
