COVID-19: Another death recorded in Malaysia, tally at 24

KUALA LUMPUR: Another death due to COVID-19 was reported in Malaysia, bringing the cumulative death toll to 24 cases, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

He said the 24th death case involved a 35-year-old Malaysian.

“The individual had a history of travel to Indonesia early this month, beginning to have symptoms five days before admitted to Kuala Lumpur Hospital last March 18.

“The results of the COVID-19 test found the individual positive with the virus on March 20.

“The patient’s health deteriorated day by day and the victim passed away yesterday at 9.30pm,” he said in a statement on his official Facebook account today.

The Health Ministry expressed its condolences to family members of the affected victim, he added.
