COVID-19: Another death case reported, tally at 15
KUALA LUMPUR: Another death due to COVID-19 has been reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) today, bringing the death toll due to the disease in Malaysia so far to 15.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, the deceased was from Case 1519, a 71-year-old Malaysian man from Melaka.
“He was suspected to have close contact with a positive COVID-19 patient, who attended the tabligh gathering in Sri Petaling Mosque recently.
“He also had a history of chronic illness and was given treatment at the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital in Muar, Johor from March 18.
“He was pronounced dead at 5.35am today,” he said, in a posting on his official Facebook page.
Dr Noor Hisham said the ministry extended condolences to the deceased’s family.
