Breaking: Number of Sungai Siput flood victims up last night
IPOH: The number of flash flood victims in Sungai Siput continue to record an increase, namely, to 207 people from 66 families as of tonight at 11 pm compared to 200 victims from 61 families yesterday evening.
A Sungai Siput District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) Secretariat spokesman said 158 residents from 54 families from Kampung Lintang, Kampung Pondok, Kampung Cherakoh and Kampung Batu 11 were housed at the temporary relief centre at Dewan Haji Mohamad Padil Kampong Lintang.
‘’The victims comprise 54 men, 64 women, 29 boys, 10 girls and a handicapped man,’’ he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the number of victims evacuated to the Kampung Tok Sirat Community Hall was maintained at 49 people from 12 families comprising men (16), women (13), boys (12), girls (seven) and a handicapped girl.
