KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested six kids, along with their parents, for allowing the former to participate in the basikal lajak race, in Taman Kosas Ampang today.

The kids, aged between 11 and 16, were arrested after riding basikal lajak in Ampang at 8.51pm on Sunday.

They are currently detained at the Pandan Indah police station.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Assistant Commissioner Noor Azmi Yusoff said that the police had also issued summonses to the kids and seized their bicycles.

“We have seized the bicycles under Section 112(3) of the Road Transport Act while their parents are detained under Section 33 of the Child Act 2001 for negligence.
