Bangkok bombings: Malaysians urged to remain vigilant

PUCHONG: Malaysian High Commission in Thailand urged Malaysians who are travelling or residing in the country to stay vigilant in the wake of several bomb attacks in Bangkok.
“We would like to remind Malaysians who are in Thailand to remain vigilant, exercise caution at all times and follow the instructions of the local authorities.
“Please register yourselves with us via email at mwbangkok@kln.gov.my,” the high commission tweeted today.
Earlier today, the media reported that several small explosions were heard in Bangkok in three different locations.
Bangkok is currently hosting a meeting of foreign ministers from Asean countries, as well as top diplomats from China, Russia and the US.
The first explosions were heard at about 9am at two sites near central Bangkok.
The third explosion followed suit at a government complex hosting several ministries on the northern side of Bangkok.
So far, four have been reported to have been slightly injured and taken to hospitals for treatment.
