“Azmin out to defend position as minister?”

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hinted that his deputy, Azmin Ali was emotional and out to defend his position as a cabinet minister. Azmin is the Economic Affairs Minister.
“I think he needs to cool himself a bit. I think he should always focus on the central issues,” he told reporters at the Dewan Rakyat sitting this afternoon.
“There are people who want to protect principles and ideals, there are people who are just (trying) to defend their position at all costs. So, you must take this into consideration,” he added.
Anwar said the above when asked to comment on Azmin’s twitter message two days ago.
“This country needs doers who are prepared to tough it out all the way, not cry babies. Whatever it takes, we must make it work. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen,” Azmin wrote.
Though it was not directed at anyone directly, it is believed that the message was aimed at Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar who is also former PKR vice president who aired out her disappointment over Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s administration.
She had referred to Mahathir as ‘former dictator’.
Anwar also reiterated his support for Dr Mahathir with hopes that the current tension within PKR over Dr Mahathir would dissipate.
