Anwar: We’re not approaching Dr M for now

PUCHONG: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that Pakatan Harapan would not be approaching Bersatu chairperson Tun Dr Mahathir for now.

“The matter doesn’t arise,” he said, after chairing a meeting with Pakatan leaders at Eastin Hotel in Petaling Jaya.

He also said that Pakatan was intact despite Bersatu’s departure and reiterated that Mahathir is no longer part of the coalition.

“No, We’re Pakatan. Mahathir has left us,” said Anwar.

On Monday, Mahathir quit as prime minister and his chairmanship of Bersatu. The event was followed by Bersatu and several rogue MPs from Pakatan leaving as well.

However, Mahathir had since returned as interim prime minister and had resumed his duties as Bersatu chairperson.

This morning, DAP secretary general Lim Guan Eng said that Mahathir was no longer committed to Pakatan’s election pledges.

Touching on Bersatu, Anwar said that Pakatan’s ties with Bersatu was still fluid due to uncertainty.

“We change by the day,” said the Port Dickson MP.
