PETALING JAYA: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stayed away from questions regarding his political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak who is wanted by the police in connection to a brawl that took place in Ampang on 31 Aug.

He left his party headquarters after chairing its political bureau meeting. Confronted by the media, he told them to raise the issue with the party’s communication director, Fahmi Fadzil who is also Lembah Pantai MP.

“Fahmi, Fahmi. Ask Fahmi,” he said as he got in his car and left.

Speaking on this matter, Fahmi said that the party would allow the authorities to probe the matter.

“The authorities can conduct a full investigation and cooperation will be given. The party makes no presumptions regarding the case, and it is up to them to investigate,” he said.

He also confirmed that PKR had not discussed the possibility of taking disciplinary action against Farhash.

“It was not discussed. If there is any prosecution in court, we will let it run its course. After that, perhaps the party will take a stand,” he said.

Farhash claimed that he would cooperate with the police but has not recorded his statement yet. In addition to that he claimed that the victim attempted to sexually assault his wife two years ago.

Yesterday another central committee member Zakaria Abdul Hamid urged PKR to take stern action against Farhash who is also the Perak PKR chief.

On that call, Fahmi said Zakaria ought to raise the matter during the next central leadership committee meeting.
