Anwar Ibrahim: Infighting in PKR a small matter

RANTAU: PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim has downplayed the ongoing infighting within PKR as merely a small matter.

“(It’s) A small matter, we focus on the election, differences of opinion are allowed… the difference of opinion is small but now we have to focus on the Rantau by-election and economy, I am consistent on this.

“Everyone has agreed to campaign, there is no need to fight,” he said after meeting the party machinery for the Rantau by-election here last night.

He said this in reference to Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar who was disappointed with the pace of reforms and even termed Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a dictator.

Nurul who is also Anwar’s eldest daughter also quit the Public Accounts Committee last week

Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali who is also PKR deputy president however rebuked Anwar’s daughter, Nurul Izzah as a crybaby.

PKR’s Rantau candidate Dr S Streram however declined to comment on the matter.

He also dismissed the infighting as a factor that could harm his chances to wrestle Rantau from BN.
