Anwar expected to unveil Johor Pakatan state election manifesto in next few days, says PKR sec-gen

JOHOR BAHRU, June 30 — The Pakatan Harapan (PH) manifesto for the Johor state election is expected to be announced in a day or two, said PKR secretary-general Datuk Fuziah Salleh.

She said that PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also PKR president, will make the official announcement.

“The PH manifesto has been finalised and we are waiting for the date from Datuk Seri Anwar.

“So, the manifesto is expected to be announced in a day or two,” she told reporters after a working visit to the SDS Food Manufacturing Sdn Bhd factory in Jalan Kempas Lama here today.

Fuziah was present at the event in her capacity as the domestic trade and cost of living deputy minister.

Also present was the Johor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo.

Fuziah said that the PH manifesto for the Johor state election touched on the welfare and needs of the people.

“What is certain is that the manifesto that will be presented meets the wishes and aspirations of the people of Johor, including touching on welfare issues,” she said.

The PH coalition’s lack of a manifesto earlier in the campaign became a point of contention in the days leading up to nomination day.

Previously, Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi claimed that PH and Perikatan Nasional (PN) — that have yet to announce their respective manifestos — are not prepared to serve the people.

Onn Hafiz, who is the caretaker Johor menteri besar, said this differentiates it from BN, which announced its manifesto before nomination day with the aim of continuing its Johor progress agenda by 2030.

He also claimed that many promises in PH’s manifesto in the previous Johor state election had still not been fulfilled.
