Anwar, Dr M all out on war against corruption

PUCHONG: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad have agreed on the need to go all out against corruption akin to war on corruption via the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) regardless of the coalition that becomes the ruling government.
“Both of us agreed that graft eradication activities have to be carried out more effectively by (newly appointed MACC chief) Latheefa Koya and the MACC regardless whether under the Pakatan Harapan or Barisan Nasional,” said Anwar on his Facebook.
The federal government is led by PH whereas BN formed the state governments in Perlis and Pahang.
Anwar also said that he informed Mahathir that the parliament select committee (PSC) on public appointments has written to Latheefa to meet her.
The PSC led by William Leong had claimed that the committee was kept in the dark when the appointment was initially announced.
Earlier today, he admitted that the committed only could review the appointments as there are legal impediments on what the PSC could do.
The meeting lasted for half an hour.
