Anwar claims on strong majority lead: End game for Muhyiddin?

PETALING JAYA: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim  today announced that the government has fallen as he has a strong majority.

PKR chairman Datuk Seri Anwar claims he has 123 parliamentary seats and is ready to meet the head of state to organize a new government.

The 123 seats does not include the Sabah Democratic Party and the Mahathir camp.

However, Datuk Ahmad Fazri, the head of the National Palace, confirmed last night that His Majesty Sultan Abdullah is receiving treatment at the National Heart Center (IJN).

“His Majesty Sultan Abdullah is suggesting that doctors are currently observing the situation. His Majesty’s situation is not worrying and he is expected to be discharged from the hospital in the near future.”

Ahmad Fazri pointed out in a statement that the head of state has cancelled the visit scheduled for the next three days from tomorrow.

Will Muhyiddin be the first to announce the dissolution of the parliament?

As Anwar suddenly made this move, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin may announce the dissolution of Parliament and hold a lightning general election.

Pakatan Harapan currently holds 109 seats in Parliament, while the ruling party of the National League has 113 seats.

He said he was supposed to meet the King on Tuesday morning but was unable to as the king was undergoing treatment at IJN.

“I have a strong, convincing and formidable majority.“

“It will be a strong government, its not four, five or six but close to two thirds,” Anwar said.
