ALW 2019 kicks off tomorrow focused on sustainable development goals

PUCHONG: The Asean Lifestyle Week (ALW) 2019 would kick start tomorrow with a focus on sustainable development goals and continue over a period of three days until 15 Sept at Hall 3 and 4, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The event tomorrow would start with a welcome speech from Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia Nori Abdullah.

A special address would be delivered Entrepreneur Development Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof.

On the second day, the Asean Sustainability Forum jointly organised by Yayasan Budi and Institute of Strategic and International Studies will be held.

Prior to that, a keynote address will be delivered by Deputy Foreign Minister Dato Marzuki Yahya.

As for the forum, there would be two sessions. The first would be on the prospects of fostering an Asean community through the Sustainable Development Goals.

This session will feature Bina Swadaya Foundation executive board member Dr Eri Trinurini Adhi, Asian Solidarity Economy Council (ASEC) chairman Dr Benjamin R Quinones Jr and Malaysia Civil Society Organisation for Sustainable Development Goals (CSO-SDGs) Alliance co-chair Dr Denison Jayasooria.

He is also a principal research fellow at the Institute of Ethnic Studies (KITA) in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

The second session will be on utilising SDGs to foster a community – based approach for enterprises at the local level.

This session will feature four speakers: – Naluri Hidup CEO and co-founder Azran Osman-Rani, Homenet Foundation for Labour and Employment Promotion director Poonsap Tulaphan, Shan Maw Myac Co. Ltd managing director U Nyan Lin and ASEC country coordinator Chandra Firmantoko.

Both the sessions will have its respective Q&A sessions.

This ALW expo is an essential event as it offers attract the best brands from various categories within the Asean lifestyle industry. There would be companies offering medical support services and the future of personal care associated within the lifestyle sector.

In addition to that the public would be able to see view brands and products from over 15 countries.

Digital apps developed with 5G would also be presented at the expo.

The expo will also provide advisory, guidance and consultancy services for business owners who would consider positioning themselves as international brands.

Members of the public should are invited to visit the expo for the next three days.
