Aliff Syukri arrested for child abuse, released on police bail
PUCHONG: Cosmetics entrepreneur Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri has been arrested for allegedly abusing his adopted daughter.
However, Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Fadzil Ahmat said that the suspect has been released on police bail.
“We are investigating the matter and will call witnesses to record their statements,” he said.
Last week, Aliff’s Indonesian domestic helper lodged a police report against the businessman, claiming the latter had been abusing his adopted daughter for some time.
It was reported that Aliff had slapped his daughter to create content for his social media channel.
The complainant alleged that Aliff had also asked her to lock the toddler in a shoe closet and join him in the heinous act but she refused.
The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for child abuse.
