Aidil monitors Kedah players’ fitness via video calls

KUALA LUMPUR: Kedah head coach, Aidil Sharin Sahak today said that he will make video calls with his players four times a week to monitor their fitness level throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, aimed to contain the spread of COVID-19 outbreak.

The 42-year-old Singaporean, who is currently observing the circuit breaker measures implemented in Singapore, revealed that he will also discuss with other coaching staff on the best method of training for the Red Eagles squad during the MCO.

Aidil Sharin pointed out that he will make the video calls with the players every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to discuss on their daily training, and with the coaching staff on every other day, to discuss either to execute plan A or B.

“If the COVID-19 situation in Malaysia improved in the near future, we will return to the normal training, and what we need after that is friendly matches before the Malaysian League resumes.

“But if the MCO period is extended further, then we will use plan B where the fitness coach will increase the frequency of training session to keep the players fit,” he was quoted as saying in the statement issued by the Malaysian Football League, today.

Meanwhile, Aidil Sharin regarded the safety of his family as utmost priority at the moment as the Singapore government has extended the circuit breaker measures until June 1.

“Initially, the circuit breaker measures were supposed to end on May 4, but we had been informed that it had been extended until June 1 after the Singapore government taking into accounts several other aspects.

“It was not a total lockdown in Singapore as we still can go out, but only limited to solve important matters such as buying household items and etc,” Aidil Sharin added.

Kedah are struggling to made an impact in the Super League as they are currently in seventh place on the table standings with four points after four matches before the M-League was postponed due to COVID-19 outbreak.
