Agrobank: Khadijah Iskandar is new covering President, CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: Khadijah Iskandar bas been named as the new covering President and CEO of government-owned Agrobank, effective yesterday.

This is following the departure of its incumbent Syed Alwi Mohamed Sultan, whose contract expired on Thursday.

Syed Alwi became the president and CEO of Agrobank on April 2, last year.

“Agrobank continues to be committed to provide the best banking services to all our customers and the responsibilities to our stakeholders remain,” said the bank, in a statement.

The bank did not elaborate on why Syed Alwi’s contract was not extended.

Khadijah has more than 20 years’ experience in the financial services in both local and international set up, as well as conventional and Islamic banking environment.

She has been serving Agrobank as chief risk officer for the past two years. Prior to that, she was the head of credit risk at Bank Rakyat Malaysia.
