FB user insults Hindu temple and Johor Sultan, receive brickbats from netizens
KUALA LUMPUR: A Facebook user, Syafiq Iqbal raised the ire of several Malaysians when he posted a status insulting a Hindu temple and the Johor Sultan.
In his controversial post which went viral yesterday, Syafiq stated that Hindu temples were a place of infidels and pagans. He also prayed, hoping for the temple to be destroyed by 2020.
Syafiq added that when he becomes the King one day, he will abolish all religions in this world, except Islam.
“I stepped into one of the Hindu temples in Johor Bahru as I’ve never been into one before. Suddenly, I felt heavy on my legs. This is the place for infidels. I feel pity for these stupid people who worship these things.
“I also wanted to laugh when I read the description of their gods and goddesses. After I went out of the temple, I prayed that Allah will destroy this temple before the new year,” he said.
Syafiq, who claimed to be an undergraduate of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, also posted an insult against Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ismail Sultan Iskandar, alleging that the ruler was failing his state.
He claimed that the Johor Sultan was doing nothing for the state and merely faking his friendliness with the people.
“Last night, I dreamt that Johor Bahru will be flooded. I could see clearly the water level is getting higher on the highway.
“Maybe it will happen after Christmas eve. Johor Bahru is the most despicable place in Malaysia, It is vile, dirty, filled with vice and prostitutes. It also has a lot of beggars. The Sultan? He only knows how to eat and sleep while claiming to be people-friendly,” said Syafiq.
However, Syafiq’s insults received a lot of backlash fellow Malaysians for being racist and rude to the Johor Sultan.
Facebook user, Daneen Nur Humairah said that the police to need take action against Syafiq for being racist.
“Serve you right Syafiq. That’s what happens when you are not using your brain,” she said.
Another user, Mohd Hafizul Mew Hamzah said that Syafiq was a disgrace to the Malay community.
“Syafiq is an example of a stupid Malay. I feel so ashamed being of the same race with stupid people like him,” he said.
On the other hand, Manisha Raman said that she has a lot of Muslim friends but none of them were racist like Syafiq.
“People who don’t know about Islam are the ones mocking other religions,” she said.
