PUCHONG: The Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Nor Aieni Mokhtar has been instructed to take garden leave pending the expiration date of her contract on April 2020.
The move was speculated to be related to her objection to the Education Ministry’s decision to merge UMT with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA).
Aieni was appointed to her post on April 13, 2015.
