M’sia sees the rise of the next badminton protege, Kisona Selvaduray
PUCHONG: Malaysia successfully dethroned Indonesia in the women’s badminton by securing a gold through Kisona Selvaduray today.
The SEA Games 2019 Badminton Women’s singles finals, which took place at Muntinlupa Sports Complex in Muntinlupa, Philippines, witnessed the rise of badminton champion Kisona Selvaduray.
It was enough to trigger an adrenaline rush, watching Hartawan Ruselli of Indonesia locking horns with Kisona of Malaysia in the game which started at 1pm local time.
Kisona holds world ranking at 104 and she was the bronze medalist at the 2013 Asian Youth Games in the girls’ singles event.
She won her first senior international title at the Indonesia International Series tournament in the women’s singles.
At 2pm local time, the Men’s singles final will start with Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew taking on Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia for the gold medal.
The last badminton match of the day will be the Men’s Doubles Finals, which will begin at 4pm local time. Isara Bodin and Jongjit Maneepong of Thailand will play against Chia Aaron Teng Fong and Soh Wooi Yik in the much-sought match.
