49 ILI cases reported in N.Sembilan so far
SEREMBAN: State Health, Environment, Cooperative and Consumerism committee chairman S Veerapan said only 49 cases of influenza-like illness (ILI) were reported in Negeri Sembilan over the first week of January this year, which is half the number recorded in the same period last year.
He said the number was recorded from Jan 1 to 8 with the latest case detected at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Mukundan, Bukit Pelandok, Port Dickson, involving two eight-year-old pupils.
“Overall, the ILI situation in the state is under control. No schools are closed and no death was reported,” he told reporters after the launch of smoking ban operations on food outlets here today.
For the record, he said a total of 1,598 cases with 27 clusters of ILI were reported throughout last year and the number was still within the normal range.
