127 malaysian identified as victims of Philippine forced labour syndicate
PUTRAJAYA, June 30 — The Foreign Ministry has identified a total of 127 Malaysian citizens who were victims of the dismantled Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (Pogo) forced labour syndicate.
It said they were among a group of 134 individuals believed to be Malaysian citizens.
“All the victims were rescued by the Philippine police during the raid operation on June 27,” it said.
The ministry said based on consular visits conducted on the Malaysian victims, all of them are in good condition.
However, it said there were some logistical and welfare issues being addressed by local authorities to ensure the wellbeing of all Malaysian victims.
Any latest information regarding this matter will be communicated periodically, it added. – Bernama
