We’re working hard to find Jho Low but it’s tough – PM

KUALA LUMPUR: The government is working hard to find fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low, to face justice over his role in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal, said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
However, he acknowledged the fact that it was not easy to get information on the fugitive.
“I am told that he may carry several passports and (may have) undergone alterations to his face. These are just rumours but it could happen.
‘This interfered in the effort of tracing him,” he told reporters after attending the 15th convocation of the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (Aswara) today.
Yesterday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said the police believed that Low is still hiding in a ‘remote country’ but declined to divulge on the details.
