Singapore man caught by Customs for not declaring over S$30,000 in Pokémon cards
SINGAPORE, Oct 15 — A man is currently under investigation by Singapore Customs for failing to declare over S$30,000 (RM97,776) worth of Pokémon cards he brought into the country through Changi Airport.
In a Facebook post, the customs authority declared: “Gotta catch them all!” while displaying the undeclared goods.
The man was reported to have been stopped by officers who then discovered the undeclared Pokémon cards during a routine check, leading to his current predicament.
Singaporeans are required to declare goods over S$500 when bringing them into the country from abroad.
They were reminded to declare and pay duty and GST on items purchased overseas that exceed the duty-free concession and GST relief.
Should there be any enquiries, they can be directed to the Red Channel or the Singapore Customs Tax Payment office, the authority advised.
