No one’s vacating for Anwar to get into Cabinet

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad confirmed that PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will not be part of his Cabinet as none of them want to resign and vacate their positions.
This seems the case even though Anwar is Dr Mahathir’s anointed successor.
“We are not having any change or any increase in the number of cabinet (members).
“Since nobody has indicated they want to resign, we have no vacancy,” he told a press conference after chairing the Bersatu supreme council meeting yesterday evening.
Speculation of cabinet reshuffle last week was doused after Dr Mahathir clarified that only portfolios would change.
Mahathir was tight lipped when asked about the portfolios involved but added that the ministers performance would be a factor.
