New powerful quake hits South Philippines

KUALA LUMPUR: An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 on the Richter scale shook parts of Mindanao, Philippines at 9.11 am this morning.
MetMalaysia in a statement said that the quake struck about 20 kilometres west of Digos with the depth of 10 kilometres.

Meanwhile, MetMalaysia also reported an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 on the Richter scale on the north of the Mollucan Sea, at 1.29 am, today.
The quake struck 128 kilometres of northwest Ternate, Indonesia at a depth of 10 kilometres.
Both quakes however present no tsunami threats to Malaysia.
