Muhyiddin appointed as the 8th PM
KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty, Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has appointed Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin, the eighth Prime Minister.
In a press statement issued by the Comptroller of royal family and household, Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, said the ceremonies of awarding the instrument of appointment and the taking of the oath of office of the Prime Minister would be held tomorrow.
“The National Palace today received a list of nominations for the names of future prime ministers from political leaders who have representatives in the House of Representatives and independent Members of the House of Representatives.
“This process is an extension of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong whereby political leaders and members of the House of Representatives are free to nominate the members of the House of Representatives as the next Prime Minister.
