Kudos to Saifuddin in prioritising welfare of the industry first
The Minority Media Organization (MiMe) would like to thank the Minister of Communications and Multimedia Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah for his statement in the media yesterday regarding the welfare of local arts, creative industry and its practitioners.
The Ministers statement of support for the industry came right after National Film Development Board (FINAS) Chairman, Datuk Hans Isaac had announced a list of proactive measures for the industry that included Bridging Funds, a Post COVID 19 Response Digital Content Fund (DKD) and guidelines for production houses and Cinema hall’s post COVID 19.
It is very refreshing to see a Minister taking an apolitical approach and working with in tandem with the FINAS board which was appointed by the previous administration.
Despite the COVID 19 stress and political distress experienced by the nation, Datuk Saifuddin’s mature approach, concurrence and apolitical participation helps restore confidence that the industry and practitioner’s welfare is well thought of and is being considered by both sides of the divide.
