All organisations are prohibited from holding general programs, activities, conferences, assemblies and general meetings until June 30, in accordance with instructions issued by the government following the spread of the COVID-19 infection, according to the Malaysian Registration Department (JPPM).
In a statement released today, JPPM said these meetings need to be conducted as stipulated in the constitution of their respective organisations.
However, given that the COVID-19 transmission situation is booming at this time, JPPM has informed that all organisations are NOT allowed to hold programs / activities / conferences / assemblies / general assembly meeting until June 30, 2020 in accordance with the directives issued by the government, “the statement said.
According to the statement, the ban applies at every level of the organisation including branches nationwide. The special directive issued is in accordance with the powers of the Registrar under the provisions of Section 3A of the Societies Act 1966 (Act 335).
“However, if up to June 30, 2020, the COVID-19 outbreak is still in a state of escalation then the organisation should submit an application to the JPPM for consideration for an extension of the stipulated deadline,” the statement added.
