Fire razed 12 houses in Semporna
SEMPORNA: Some 12 houses were destroyed in a fire at Kampung Inabah Kamal here last night.
Semporna Fire and Rescue Station Chief of Operations, Senior Fire Officer I, Rary Binjie said five engines and 31 firemen were assigned to the scene after receiving a distress call at 8.02 pm.
“Three teams from Kunak and Tawau Fire and Rescue Stations were mobilised to put out the fire, with water from a fire hydrant and an open water source near the location,” he said in a statement here today.
The operation ended around 12 midnight.
He said no injuries or fatalities were reported and the cause of fire was being investigated.
