Malaysia rejects new Palestine-Israel peace plan by US
PUCHONG: Malaysia rejects the Israel-Palestine peace plan announced by United States three days ago.
In a statement today, Prime Minister’s Office said the Malaysian government found the proposal unfair to the Palestinians and will only perpetuate injustices they have long endured.
“Palestine, as an aggrieved party, has been subjected to prolonged Israeli illegal occupation and was never directly involved or even consulted in the formulation of the proposal.
“The proposal is heavily one sided, seeking to reward Israel as the occupier at the expense of the occupied Palestine and her people,” the statement said.
Three days ago, US president Donald Trump announced the peace plan and called it the Deal of the Century.
PMO Malaysia believes that the Palestinians have every right to reject it.
“Malaysia stands by its position that the creation of the State of Palestine, through the two state solution based on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine as the only viable solution to the Palestine-Israel conflict,” it added.
