Wan Azizah: Liu’s statement on Pakatan govt without Bersatu is a personal opinion

MELAKA:  DAP leader Ronnie Liu’s assertion that Pakatan Harapan can run the government without Bersatu was his personal opinion, said Pakatan president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Wan Azizah, who is also deputy prime minister, said Pakatan component parties, comprising of PKR, Bersatu, DAP and Amanah, still need each other to run the nation.

“What was said by Ronnie is just his opinion,” she told reporters.

In an opinion piece published by Malaysiakini recently, Liu claimed that Pakatan could still retain the government without Bersatu.

The DAP central executive committee member also alleged that Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was intent on pursuing a Barisan Nasional model within the alliance, with a dominant Malay party in the lead.

DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke had announced that Liu would be referred to the party’s disciplinary committee for his statement.
