Last two relief centres in Kedah closed as floods recede
ALOR SETAR, Oct 2 — The two remaining flood relief centres (PPS) in Kota Setar district were closed today as flood waters have fully receded.
Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) Kedah Disaster Management Secretariat head Major (PA) Muhammad Suhaimi Mohd Zain said all 67 flood victims from 23 families housed at the two PPS had been allowed to return home.
“The Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Taman Aman PPS, which was opened on Sept 26, was closed at 9.30 am while the SK Seri Gunung PPS, which started operating on Sept 28, was shut at 8 am,” he said in a statement today.
He said good weather was reported in the district today.
