Two die after car crashes into Sedili palm oil plantation
KOTA TINGGI, July 1 — A 20-year-old man was killed and two others injured after their vehicle crashed into a palm oil plantation at Jalan Sungai Ara, Sedili, here.
Kota Tinggi Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Ibrahim Wahid said that the incident occurred at 1.23pm on Saturday (July 1).
“There were three men inside the vehicles, all aged 20. The incident occurred after the driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the plantation at the side of the road.
“One of the victims suffered a serious injury and was pronounced dead at the location, while the other two were sent to the hospital for treatment,” he said in a statement.
The body of the victim has been handed over to the police for further action, he added.
Meanwhile, Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora has confirmed the incident and said that it is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
