PUCHONG: A local non-governmental organisation (NGO) is planning to lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in regards to the recent police raid [1]on a private party which implicated several prominent political leaders in drug abuse. [2]

People’s Wellbeing & Rights Organisation (Power) said that the report will be lodged against GK Sport & Recreation Sdn Bhd, adding that a minister may also be involved in the private party.

Speaking to The Leaders Online, a source told that there were claims that a Toyota Alphard MPV, carrying the ‘Menteri’ emblem, was present at the scene of the crime.

“The premise where the party was held is owned by Malaysia Gymnastics Federation deputy chairperson, who is also linked to GK Sports & Recreation.

“The company has been supplying items to the Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) since 2015. They even received a contract from the ministry last year,” said the source.

According to the source, the company organises such parties frequently as a ‘token of appreciation’ for officials from KBS.

The source added that many were oblivious to the presence of a minister’s official car when the party was held, so Power had decided to get to the bottom of the matter.

“We want to lodge this report so that MACC will investigate whether a minister was present at the private party or not.

“If a minister was present, the public needs to know who is the person and why was he or she getting involved in a drug-fuelled party,” he said.

On Jan 12, the police raided arrested 17 individuals in a wild party held in a condominium in Puchong.

Among those nabbed were Dengkil state assemblyman Adhif Syan Abdullah and several officials from the KBS.

Bersatu youth chief Syed Saadiq Syed Abdul Rahman today said that he had suspended his youth wings members who were caught in the raid.

GK Sport & Recreation, in a Google search, indicated that it specialises in sourcing and development of professional sports in Malaysia.
